A former interior designer, Sarah Savoy is drawn to objects that connect her to the past. Her store, much & Little, showcases vintage-inspired housewares on Vancouver’s east Side. “I love that lots of new, independent designers are choosing to go back to well-crafted pieces that evoke memories,” she says.
Reclaimed wood shelving displays desirable objets like tropical terrariums in vintage mason jars and sumptuous cotton duvet covers from Matteo in soothing colors like crisp white and pewter. A vintage baker’s table anchors the store and showcases locally produced bridle leather wallets and bread knives from Santa Fe, new Mexico, inlaid with stunning wood marquetry. Tea towels printed with flora and fauna by Toronto-based Bookhou and hand-crafted brass and copper jewelry from Chicago’s Laura Lombardi reflect the overall organic feel.
